Speaking to aviation correspondents in Lagos on Sunday morning, on his way to the Gambia, Kalu emphasized that his grip on the state was not threatened, adding:'There is nothing like impeachment train moving to Abia."

He said a formidable forum already exits where governors express their views, adding that Governor Lucky Igbinedion of Edo State is currently talking on behalf of the governors. On his presidential ambition, Kalu said: 'My structure is very strong and we're making sure that we'll win the elections next year. We'll redeem Nigeria and return Nigeria to Nigerians." Asked whether he was not worried over the controversy in the ongoing voters' registration, Kalu said: 'Nobody is going to succeed himself, either way it goes. If they like, let them delay it. We'll work out details of it. I'm not comfortable about the whole thing. I believe we should be able to do better and I believe INEC will do better."

On e-voting process, Kalu said he had nothing against it provided it prevents rigging.
He said that the most important thing in electoral processes was for the mandate of the people to prevail and the rule of law protected.
